Greetings Card - Wheel of the Year

from £3.00

These exclusive greetings cards have been especially printed for me by a small local company, faithfully reproduced from my original painting of The Wheel of the Year.

The Wheel of the Year is an annual cycle of festivals which marks the turning of the seasons; it illustrates the cycle of birth, death and rebirth, and celebrates the rhythms of nature.

There are the four main solar events: two solstices at midwinter and midsummer, Yule and Litha, as well as the two equinoxes Ostara and Mabon. Then there are the four traditional Celtic festivals which fall between them: Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnassad and Samhain. I also added the signs of the zodiac and their corresponding dates, all surrounding a full moon and a flaring sun. The corners are decorated with seasonal symbols: mistletoe, a bird’s nest, a fox running under the moon, and a lovely big pumpkin.

The cards come with square unbleached recycled paper envelopes and are packed in biodegradable and home compostable sleeves made from vegetable starch. They are blank inside, and suitable for any occasion. They measure 15cm x 15cm, with the fold on the left had side.
