Hand woven from a blend of merino, silk and yak, with a weft of chunky local breed Latvian sheepswool in a delightful muted turquoise shade. The mustard-yellow stripes are woven in merino wool. Finished at each end with a fringe of hand-twisted and knotted tassels.
Size (excluding tassels) 168cm/66" long, 30cm/12" wide.
Size (including tassels) 196cm/77" long, 30cm/12" wide.
Weight; 207g/7.3oz
Composed of merino wool, silk, and yak, with local breed sheepswool.
Hand-wash in lukewarm water with wool detergent. Alternatively, gently machine wash on a cold wool cycle with a small amount of wool detergent. To dry, lay flat on a large towel and roll up like a Swiss roll, squeezing gently, then complete drying naturally on a clothes airer or washing line. DO NOT TUMBLE DRY.
The merino/silk/yak blend warp and also the yarn for the mustard stripe have been hand-dyed by some of my favourite UK-based indie dyers. The turquoise blue weft has been woven with chunky local breed sheepswool from the small family run Dundaga woollen mill in the Latvian countryside.
