SUCCESS TO THE PLOUGH & SHUTTLE - Handmade Sterling Silver Pendant

I am also a jeweller! These pieces are handmade by me in heavyweight solid sterling silver. They are part of my Original Talisman collection, inspired by 18th century trade tokens. Success to the Plough & Shuttle is one of my favourites; can you spot the weaving shuttle?!

These pieces are double-sided, and can be worn either way around, according to your mood or preference.

On the other side is an an old-fashioned straw beehive (known  as a skep) surrounded by a swarm of bees. On this side can be read Industry Has It’s Sure Reward, referring to the sweet and sustaining honey that is the bees’ reward and security for all their hard work.

It’s a very special piece in celebration of the simple history of weaving, growing and thriving.

Each talisman has been fully hallmarked with my own personal hallmark by the Edinburgh Assay Office, who have been hallmarking precious metals for over 550 years. As these are handmade pieces, they will have very slight natural variations from one another.

Success to the Plough & Shuttle measures 27mm across and 32mm tall including the fixed loop but excluding the pendant bail. It weighs a substantial 10.4g. The pendant bail is soldered closed.

Available with a 20 inch long solid sterling silver chain, or just the pendant by itself.
